Field Hand (Armagh)
Temporary Seasonal

Tuesday – Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM
Starting $15/hour
Two paid breaks, half-hour unpaid lunch

John-Paul’s Farm is seeking someone to join our team to assist with our vegetable farming operation. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being a team member, finds satisfaction in task completion, and can follow directions. Our two mottos are “growing with care” and “trying our best” – we ask the same of our employees.
Responsibilities: The primary focus of this role is harvesting, washing, and packing produce. Additional job duties include planting, weeding, seed starting, and tending to crops as needed such as irrigation and farm maintenance. Field Hands are trained to do each each task, and often work alongside others but will be required to work independently as well.
This work can be simple and complex, challenging and rewarding!
Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Detail oriented and accepting of instruction
- Has a sense of urgency – the work is fast paced
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, and ability to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
- Flexibility – assignments shift throughout the day and with the season
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
Relevant experience may include: team sports, kitchen or food service work, or nursery. Direct experience with vegetable farming is not required, but we would enjoy learning about how you feel other experiences in your life will contribute to working on the farm.
