Farm Hand (Armagh)

John-Paul’s Farm is seeking someone to join our team of two to assist with our vegetable farming operation. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being a team member, finds satisfaction in task completion, and can be accountable when working independently. Our two mottos are “growing with care” and “trying our best” – we ask the same of our employees. Direct experience is not required, but we would enjoy learning about how you feel other experiences in your life will contribute to working on the farm.

Responsibilities: The primary focus of this role is harvesting, washing, and packing produce. Additional job duties may include weeding, cultivating, planting, and tending to crops as needed. General cleanup and maintenance of the farm may occur too including picking up, washing, mowing, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Positive disposition
  • Willingness to learn new skills and pay attention to details
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Flexibility – assignments may shift throughout the day based on weather or priority changes

Market Hand (Indiana)

Part-Time, Seasonal

A great opportunity for someone who loves the farmers’ market and wants to join the Indiana County Farmers’ Market community. John-Paul’s Farm is seeking someone to join our market team. Our ideal candidate has a familiarity with produce, is polite and friendly, and understands how to balance social customer interactions with customer transactions. Familiarity with vegetables isn’t required, but a curiosity and desire to learn would be great!

Responsibilities: Setup and tear down of market stall. Creating an attractive display. Assisting customers with shopping. Checking out customers for cash and digital transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service skills, including treating all customers with dignity regardless of how they pay
  • Willingness to learn about vegetables and their uses
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and use a digital point of sale system
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, and ability to stand for an extended period of time
